Yoga weekend workshop by Vedanza A.s.b.l.
11-13 July 2008

 

During this weekend we'll go a little deeper into the theory and practice of Yoga: focusing on the structure and functioning of the human being seen from the Yogic point of view, as well as the concept of stress and its management. Activities will include yoga sessions and lectures every day, sound walks, and also swimming in the lake and for those who enjoy, Indian cooking! Plenty of time also to enjoy the space and time around you. The objective of this short retreat is to open the mind by stimulating the senses, to induce reflexion and come home relaxed and energized.

The teachers:
Emanuela Iacopini is a Yoga teacher and a dance artist. Back in Luxembourg from 2005, she works at the Conservatoire of Luxembourg as well as with her own company Vedanza and the Centre de Création Chorégraphique Luxembourgeois. She taught Yoga in Madrid, Brigthon and London. She trained mainly in India: in Bangalore with Swamy Vishardananda, and the SVYASA centre where she gained a Yoga Instructor Certificate; in Rishikesh with Surinder Singh, Swamy Dayananda, and at Yoga Niketan; in London she trained occasionally with Sri. Patthabi Jois, and with Ken Eyerman for two years gaining a diploma in the Eyerman Technique of Bodywork and Movement. Emanuela visits India every year, and being continuously exposed to the diverse approaches to Yoga, she complements her teaching with different elements of this vast discipline.

Rajivan Ayyappan is an Indian composer and sound artist - please find full information at www.rajivan.com - who will offer introductory sound walks to raise awareness through the sense of Hearing.

Isabell Siempelkamp might join the workshop as a guest teacher (to be confirmed). Isabell is a certified Yoga Therapist, reflexologist and Pilates instructor as well as an advanced student of the Vedanta philosophy. She has trained mainly in India and she lives in Germany where she works and studies acupuncture and homeopathy.

Arriving on Friday 11th evening (from 7pm)
Leaving on Sunday 13th evening (from 6pm)
To arrange transport please get in touch if you'd like to join in a car and drive up there. Rendez-vous at the Studio TroisC-L, 20a rue de Strasbourg at 6.30pm on Friday 11th.

The price includes accomodation, all meals, all classes and lectures. Accomodation is in single, double, 4-bed rooms with shared bathrooms. Rooms are booked on a first come first served basis.
